Jan.2020: Deuter was once again awarded the highest prize of the Fair Wear Foundation

Deuter, for the seventh consecutive year, has been awarded the highest performance award in the benchmarking category Leader Status of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF)!

The FWF works with brands and industry players to improve working conditions throughout the textile and apparel industry, especially at the local level in manufacturing countries. Production sites are audited annually by this non-profit organization according to strict regulations.

Deuter has been a member of the FWF since August 2011 and is committed to the strict lines of labour guidelines set by this independent, non-profit organisation, thanks to its conscious implementation of fair (proper) working and production conditions. Only those who meet the strict requirements in terms of safety at work and social standards receive this highest award.

Its strong commitment to environmental sustainability has resulted in its entire production being free of PFCs and using recycled materials in many of its new products from spring/summer 2020!

Oct.2019: Deuter, Best Brand of 2019

Once again, Deuter was voted the best brand of 2019!

The readers of the cycling magazines "ENDURO mountain bike", "E-MOUNTAINBIKE" and "GRAN FONDO Cycling Magazine" voted Deuter as the Best Brand in the Backpack Category for the year 2019.

The leading German magazine Outdoor Magazin has awarded 2 Reader's Choice 2019 awards to DEUTER, after a vote among its readers and end consumers in the categories Backpacks and Sleeping Bags. Out of a total of 6,808 votes, 67% were men and 33% were women.

All Deuter products without PFC from 2020

From the summer of 2020, all Deuter products will be PFC-free, which contributes to both the good of our planet and the health of people. PFCs are poly-fluorinated compounds used in water-repellent treatments. From 2020 onwards, Deuter will only use DWR (water-resistant water-repellent coatings), many of which are derived from renewable raw materials. They are applied to the outer surface of fabrics to prevent water penetration. Simply put, it will provide the same level of water resistance but with much better environmental performance.

While most of Deuter's products are PFC-free, considering its wide range of products, you realise that it takes time to implement it in all of its products - to ensure that its functionality and quality is not compromised. In mid-2018, Deuter stopped using PFC-coated materials in its production facilities and by the summer of 2020, this transition will be completed across its entire collection.
